Kunstgiesserei St.Gallen Sculpture Production (Shanghai) Co. Ltd. is an art production company based in Shanghai Pudong and the subsidiary of the Swiss art foundry Kunstgiesserei St.Gallen AG. We realize projects for international and Chinese contemporary artists, architects and designers. We supervise the works in every stage, from first consultation to the finished work and installation. Our office and workshop is located 20 min from Pudong airport. We work with bronze and aluminum castings in sand and lost wax technique. We also realize works in metalworking or other techniques and materials.

We are looking for a permanent technical project manager with engineering experience in Shanghai:

We search for a person with technical education in casting, engineering, or architecture/design. We expect applicants to have work-related experience, ideally, in/or in collaboration with a Swiss or European company and so to know the requirements of Swiss quality work.

Duties and responsibilities:

• manage our technical team and instruct staff of our partner companies (foundries, metalworkers, CNC model makers)
• develop solutions for technical problems in accordance with aesthetic requirements
• project planning, provide drawings, generate schedules
• research of new supplier partners, techniques, materials
• travel to partner companies, costumers or installation sites for supervision (incl. overseas)
• technical communication between workshop and with customers

Candidates must have:

• profound technical knowledge (statics, technical drawings...) and a fast comprehension of new techniques
• the ability to self-manage and progress projects in alignment with the requirements and standards of Swiss quality
• good communication skills in Chinese, as well as English, both written and spoken
• the ability to work as part of a diverse team
• the ability to identify and address critical issues regarding quality, production, safety and environment

This is a full-time position, but depending on the candidate, also part-time is possible. The position includes paid vacation and health insurance.

Salary is commensurate with experience.
